Simon Petrus Invented Phone In Namibia Which Does Not Use Airtime

A Grade 12 learner in Namibia’s Ohagwena Region has invented a sim-less mobile phone that allows users to make free calls and watch one TV channel.

Simon Petrus, a pupil at Abraham Iyambo Senior Secondary School, created the phone using spares from a phone and television set.

Complete with a light bulb, fan and charger socket, the handset functions off power supplied through a radiator and is able to make calls to anywhere through the use of radio frequencies.

An unnamed car driver will never forget today Sunday 31 July 2016, the day when his car was crushed under a large commercial truck but he fortunately came out alive and unscratched. Among the good Samaritans who came to rescue the victim after the crash was singer Duncan Mighty who was on his way to Harrysong's "One Delta Peace Concert" billed for today.

Duncan Mighty wrote:
"Who said there's no God .. Just now as am heading to ASABA with my crew I watched this man ran under a moving trailer with a high speed, so I packed and rushed down to assist him and he's alive and safe while his car was totally destroyed .. God I thank u for saving his life ... Make una join me thank God because non of u will die untimely in JESUS NAME AMEN."

On being married for 20 years

It’s just been fun. I’m married to my friend and should I say, my destiny supporter. There’s no relationship without its challenge. When people hear that we are celebrated twenty years, they think we must be really without stress or anything, but I just want to let people know that if you are determined to do it in life, if you are determined to make it, you will make it. You have troubles in life generally anyway; either with your parents, or with your siblings.

An elderly Afghan cleric has been arrested after he married a six-year-old girl, officials said Friday,July 30, in the latest case highlighting the scourge of child marriages in the Muslim country.

Mohammad Karim, said to around 60, who was being held in the central province of Ghor province, claimed her parents gave him the girl as a "religious offering". But officials cited the girl’s family on Friday as saying that she was abducted from the western province of Herat.
