The actress and singer, while speaking in an
interview with Vanguard on December 5, advised
against young ladies sleeping around to make it
to the top in the industry.
She said: “They should know it takes a
combination of hard work, brains and beauty to
make it. Sleeping around will take them
nowhere.”
Ashionye has earned her stripes in the Nigerian
entertainment industry from leading various
concerts such as Girl Power and Unleashed to
acting in the acclaimed MNET TV series, Tinsel,
till she took a break to deliver her son.
She has also featured in a number of movies

stating that female entertainers are starting to
get what they deserve for their efforts.
She said: “The situation is far better than what it
used to be in the past. At least, we are getting a
bit of what we deserve. And this is not because
any man created space for us; rather, the female
folks have taken their destinies into their hands
by becoming producers, directors, and owning
record labels.”
