it threads in the path of its acclaimed counterpart,
Hollywood. With the cinematic evolution that has
been experienced in the Nigerian movie industry,
and a steady competition that has proven healthy
alongside Hollywood movies, Gold Picture Movies
births a first class thriller that adapts the renowned
reality show, Big Brother Africa.
Plotted in harmony with the original Big Brother
Africa, where selected individuals from speculated
African countries would be in an isolated house
while trying to avoid being evicted by viewers and
ultimately winning a large cash prize at the end of
the show, “Eviction Day” parades a set of
contestants who were called into the competition
rather than applying for it voluntarily.
In the real life Big Brother Africa, the contestant(s)
who is not favoured by the viewers gets evicted
and leaves the “isolated house” to return peacefully
to his/her country. But have you ever imagined the
next Big Brother show being a house where the
eviction day for the housemates turns out to be the
day they die?
How spell bound would you be knowing that the first
two people to be evicted died even before they got a
chance to leave the house?
“Eviction Day”, as written and directed by Afe
Olumowe, has a mystery figure, “Zeus”, who
wishes to fight for God on His behalf and decides to
put an end to a group of people that have committed
atrocities in His name, hence the founding of the
mysterious cloned Big Brother House that
mysteriously selects unsuspecting candidates for
doom.
Produced by Vitus Nnebue and directed by Afe
Olumowe.
Starring Mercy Johnson Okojie, Nkem Owoh, Uche
Odoputa, Sam Sunny, Zilly Tete, Shirley Igwe,
Derevko Obodoezi, the Nigerian cinema is about to
be hit by the most thrilling imagination that lurks
around its favourite show in Africa.
